The band really gave it there all on this one. Many smiles were exchanged during the performance. During E-bow especially you can hear Jónsi adding subtle embellishments which he only does when everything is very much on form and he is happy!
One benefit from a recording such as this is that you hear clearly many of the more subtle elements in the mix that are usually missed in the totality of the sound. The sound itself is very big and colorful which works very well in the context of the video and with closed eyes imagining you are there!
Superb mixing on this, the soundstage is particularly well done. There were, as expected no dynamics on the nriginal although it was far better than some. I corrected this to some degree. I didn't do much to the audio, mainly lifted the voice and audio and a few tweaks here and there.
Over all this is beyond superb hence the 100/100 score. It just sounds so much like how the experience of a Sigur Rós concert is. Wonderful

Sigur Rós - 2013 UK Tour...Best Of
Taped, Mixed, Mastered and Compiled: by Jon Parker
Equipment: Zoom H4 / John Ramsey Signature Cardroid Mics
Position: Centre front - standing in front of sound desk in the middle
Recorded - FLAC 24Bit / 48kHz
Re-Master Info: ProTools 10 / Ozone 5 Mastering Suite / +others /
~ Recorded over 3 nights at the 02 Academy Brixton UK - 7th, 8th, 9th March ~
This 'Best Of' compilation arose for a number of reasons. Mainly to have all the new songs, as played on this tour in one place (otherwise they would be spread over 3 concerts)
Another reason is that because, as the quality is stunning, and the concerts are totally consistent in terms of recording position, levels and mastering its not only possible to gather the new songs in one place, but I also felt it a great opportunity to include the best performances of individual songs and to mix them all seamlessly into something of a 'fantasy concert'.
Humility aside :) it does sound exceptionally good and has been mixed in such a way that you really wouldn't be able to guess it didn't actually happen! So it plays like [what would have been] the perfect concert, i at least in terms of song content!
I should add, this is not something I would normaly do as I try to present, as much as possible, each concert experience as it was experienced. However having had great feedback and support from the Sigur Rós fan community...here it is
Ps. A huge thank you to all the people I met who kindly consented to keep their clapping and cheering noise down to a minimum to allow for a better recording and to PG Morris for the use of his fabulous photos as album art

Probably one of the best shows Ive heard from Sigur Rós. The played their hearts out and gave this show their very all (similar to the Thursday night) ...although they were all pretty awesome! Jónsi in particular was again truly on form.
This the 3rd night of 3 played in London found Sigur Rós in a similar powerful state as on the previous thursday! Recorded in exactly the same position, same levels, same master as the 7th & 8th.

This was the first time I have seen Sigur Rós live in 7 years, the last being in Manchester 2005. It was extraordinary the differences and yet how much of the continuity and precision of even individual notes have not changed.
Jónsi had a powerful voice tonight, something that really shows in parts of this recording. The band will tighten up slightly no doubt towards the end of the tour but all things considered they have achieved something which has to be experienced as it can't be put into words! The video / stage set which was completely different for each song, again has to be seen, no, experienced to be believed
The recording came out well, no clipping! (always a worry) but did take some work to bring a good balance. The building itself struggled with some of the higher frequencies. Fortunately my mics tend to ignore such things and also seem to cut through a lot of the colour.
All in all Im very happy with the end result. Hope you enjoy the recording and it brings back good memories.
Edit: after having listened to the show twice I'm giving it a *top ten concert* status. I hope Im not just being bias but after some careful listening I can't fault the quality of the balance of the highs, mids and lows :)

Blank Mass:
Because he was the support act there some relatively quiet talking in the background but a very nice recording. Unfortunately I had some equipment issues so there is a soft fade out / fade in half way through the set. I don't know the songs well enough to name but link to the relevant sites to find out more!

Lineage: Internet Stream: RAV 2 (details not known) > EMU 0404 Soundcard > Audition @88/32 > Re-master T-Racks / Ozone Mastering Suite 4 > FLAC 44/16
As always a very nice sounding audio from Rav. The re-master has brought about a very rich, crisp, colourful, big sounding concert which was not so much present in the original stream. The audio in the original was perfectly fine though and as such I hope to also offer the untouched version as well in the near future.
I should mention here that some of the re-masters created at victoryroselossless focus on bringing something of the 'feel' of a Sigur Rós concert where as others focus more on getting a more technically pure sounding concert. It depends to a large degree on the original files. This re-master is of the latter.
Quite an important concert for fans in that this is the first time we have heard the new song Bernnsteinn in such a great quality
