Quite a quiet sound with everything coming from a distance and at times a little strained. Not a very typical FM sound but its not too bad and having a unique type of sound will suit some people who prefer it.

02 Ny Batterí
03 Njósnavelin

Quality/Performance: A

This concert has come as a real surprise, the quality being very different from the 1st time I came across this concert. The sound is just amazingly good but what's most exciting is having the 3 'Rimur' songs here as performed bySteindor Anderson in a quality I don't believe we have heard before. Simply stunning.

However... Only the first nine songs are in this quality. The last four (which originaly I wasn't going to include) are off an inferior
standard but for the sake of completeness they are included as a '2nd disk'
Part 2 of the FLAC downloads just contains the 3 Rimur tracks if you particularly want those on their own

Set List:

01 Fyrsta
02 Samskeyti
03 Von
04 Ny Batterí
05 Rimur #5

08 DaudlagiÖ

Lineage: Unknown AUD
Quality/Performance: B+ / A

A great performance featuring a rare appearance from Steindór Andersen the head chap from the Icelandic Traditional Rhyming Society. The sound quality itself is a little mixed due mainly to the size and reverb of the venue itself and some clipping during early parts of the recording. Ironically, on the night Geog himself was a little worried about how the venue acoustics would affect the sound. A few songs though come through very well though such as 'Olsen Olsen' and 'Svefn-G-Englar'

2001.04.17 Kampnagel, Hamburg DE - Re Master V.2

Lineage: Unknown AUD
Quality/Performance: A+ (*Top 10 Concert*)

This concerts sits comfortably within the '*Top 10 Concerts*' category, a category designated to the hand full
of concerts that are exceptional and stand out from the rest by their exceptional quality, performance or both. Even though the first master I had done was good enough I spent a bit more time on this one adding a little more warmth, depth and clarity. Not a huge difference but one which I feel is well deserved. One very lovely aspect of this particular recording is the drums. They have the most prefect reverb and 'boom' but, only at the points where its really needed, for instance during Dauðalagið.
Its not perhaps obvious at first why this is such a great concert because nothing about it really stands out but ironically that is what makes it so good. Its wonderfully balanced, played and leaves you feeling completely satisfied. An epic Sigur Rós at their most comfortable & confident.

2000.11.17 Schlachthof, Hamburg SBD - DE - Re-master

Lineage: Unknown SBD quality / although probably FM Broadcast
Quality/Performance: SBD?: A+

This is the same concert as previously posted although this version does not contain the complete set list. However the sound quality for this one is exceptional and I feel better than the FM one. Also with the previous FM Broadcast post there are elements that sometimes give it something of a feel of an audience recording (although as stated its still a superb concert) There where 2 extra tracks that came with this recording, the radio announcer introducing and ending the show. I haven't included these as they had no relevance to the music although this will explain the sharper than usual fade out at the end of the last track!
A fantastic show and certainly due the mixing, one of the most interesting to listen to from this period

Set List:

01 Nýja Lagid
02 E-Bow
03 Olsen Olsen
04 Svefn-G-Englar

An absolutely stunning concert both in quantity and quality. Alafos is simply breathtaking. There is something about the line up of tracks which works really well. This easily goes into my top 10 list of favourite concerts. There just seems to be something so sublime about these 2000 concerts. Enjoy this one, its a special one.
edit: This is a different version to the second post of the same concert. It features all the tracks from the concert but is not as good quality as the latter version (although its still very good!)
