Quite a tricky one to do due to the quality, so we have quite a rough, dirty sound which has a big emphasis on the high end giving this concert quite a sibilant sound. In some cases there can be limitations on improvements in quality depending on the original recording so, as in the case here, this is not the best in terms of quality but it does have quite a unique sound. I think its good though overall to have concerts here that emphasise different types of sound with some for example, displaying a large booming drum bass and others, such as this one having more emphasis on the higher end. For those who like a very clear crisp sound this concert will please

Victoryrose Lossless is coming back!
I'm currently in the process of re-uploading everything that is currently here. It will take a long time but its happening! :) Im keen to share concerts from this current tour which I will do when I can work out how to post AND keep the posts in a somewhat relevent order of date! I still have many concerts to re-master and share from 2003 - 2008. Its a long project, especially as I'm now much busier than I was when I started but even just filling a bucket drop by drop with water eventually fills the bucket !!

The infamous 'Split sides' performance! The night was split into two parts, one with Sigur Rós and the other with a band who are quite popular these days. This isn't the best quality but it should now, represent the best quality to date...hopefully :)

The four songs found here are from a Promo DVD and as such the qaulity is perfect. One of the very few professionally recorded live Sigur Rós from this period. the version of Gitardjamm is particularly stunning! Enjoy :)

A particularly powerful hard hitting concert due to the huge 'Arena' sound. Listening to it reminds me very much what it actually sounds like to experience a Sigur Rós concert from the back of the concert hall on the top balcony...just lovely :)
Also, what I particularly is the outstanding performance of Gítardjamm preceded perfectly by Smaskifa. The audience is very quiet and respectful here as well...which is nice :)
Its concerts like this one that make all the work: re-mastering, editing, naming, tagging uploading etc etc to be worthwhile

I'm not sure but this may the first audience rather than soundboard recording I've awarded a *top ten concert* rating too? Anyway needless to say its wonderful. Its one of those concerts where Jónsi does a lot of singing in the background to himself! The concert does suffer a little bit with some people constantly chattering throughout the entire concert but a large part of what makes this concert is the performance.

A fair amount of the video has heads of the audience showing in the bottom third. At first I thought this would annoying...but then I found I'd watched the whole concert!

Im so impressed with this concert. Its rare to get such a wonderful balance where everything sounds and feels just 'right' All the levels of the voice, instruments and drums sit really well even during the louder sections. This particular concert also really stands out in respect to its beautifully paced delivery and is also one of those concerts where Jónsi's voice is exceptionally sublime. Jónsi's voice rarely if ever fails him but on occasions such as this one you really feel that he goes somewhere else in particular with tracks such as Hafssól. Thanks to the kind taper Stephen. (As he mentions in his notes Vaka is a little 'hot' as he was setting his levels but after that its all beautiful)

A very lovely concert. Ive mastered this one to be quiet as its beautifully intimate and a late night listen really puts you right there in the room. Its funny hearing Jónsi fluff his lines during Staralfur. You can virtually see him look towards Kjartan grinning! Its nice having Smaskifa followed by Gitardjamm although its not his best performance.

A phenomenal concert both in terms of the performance and the sheer volume of music. The performance is of particular note. Whilst Sigur Rós always gives a great performance sometimes Jónsi's voice excels which leads to epic concerts above and beyond just the regular epicness! I was tempted to make this a *top ten concert* based on the performance alone but it needs to matched by the quality as well and as this wasn't a soundboard its slightly let down

A really lovely relaxed concert with a very nice silky softness feel especially in the drums which along with the over all balance of the instruments makes this sound very much like a commercial recording. If your'e the kind of person that doesn't like a lot of treble, who prefers a more 'Dolby' sound then this concert should suit perfectly. So nice to have such a great recording of Viðrar Vel Til Loftárása here. I forgot to mention these 2003 concerts feature Amina playing the orchestral parts. I forgot to mention because their playing is so beautifully understated and well done it almost escaped me!
